This mod successfully runs on various emulated versions of Breath of the Wild using the Yuzu, Ryujinx, and Cemu emulators, as well as on modded Wii U and Switch consoles. What makes this so impressive is this is the first time a modder has created a custom-designed dungeon for the Switch version of Breath of the Wild.

Waikuteru released a video showing off their creation running on Cemu, complete with Bokoblins guarding various nooks within the dungeon. This video takes viewers from the entrance, across the dungeon's many rooms and reworked puzzles, and all the way to the boss fight which nixes Ghirahim for Breath of the Wild's Thunderblight Ganon. A small book found near the entrance also thanks various people who helped bring this mod to fruition.
Video game modding communities are constantly impressing their fans with unique and occasionally bizarre mods, and this one seems to be no exception. One criticism fans had of Breath of the Wild was the lack of aesthetic diversity among the game's dungeons and shrines. The puzzles were praised, but the muddy browns and dull visuals of the Divine Beasts wore thin for some fans who expected the kind of design solidified in dungeons from past Legend of Zelda titles.
While mods are a fun way to change up games, like turning Super Mario 64 into DOOM, fans should keep in mind that such additions are not officially sanctioned by Nintendo, and modding a console can result in unforeseen consequences. Despite that, this mod should add some extra fun for fans who want more Breath of the Wild content before the sequel is released. Subscribers to Waikuteru's patreon can enjoy the mod now, while other fans will have to wait until September 22 for its public release.
