The serial number can be found under the folding lever and on the underside at the chamber end of the rifle barrel. The manufacturer's logo and manufacturer's name Zbrojovka Brno can be found on the right side of the chamber end of the shotgun barrel and on the underside of the locking frame. The known serial number range for the 41 dated “dou.” code G.24 (t) is from 7286 to 1096j for an estimated production run of 115,000 pieces. The “dou.” coded G.24 (t) rifles dated 42 were again identical to the 41 issue in all respects. The E (lion)28 stamp is the final inspection and acceptance mark of the Czech military, the 28 is the year 1928. VZ 24 production started in 1925- 26 era so you have a very early one. The serial also shows this with the Z1 suffix. They made 9999 rifles with a letter after and then started over with the next letter. Brno serial numbers CZ / Brno. Interested in the early 1950's Brno rimfires only, Can you guys give me an idea what each model started and finished at?

My gun was bought in 2003 from a farmer who bought it brand new cerca 1957, fired a few rounds every once in a while, and kept it wrapped in sheets and towels till the day I bought it from him. His wood house helped fight rust and decay I guess.
It is a 1956, BRNO Model 2 22Lr serial number an early 8239 heheh. Everything is original exxcept the butt plate, (the last owner being tall had the butt plate changed). The bluing is from 1956 and still gleams of those days. I do not plan on doing anything to it except change the butt plate for an original. The stock is in a much better state than most similar weapons of the day and also has the original finish from 1956.
I have taken it to clubs here, and this is easily one of the most well preserved guns of this type... save the bloody butt plate. Here are the pictures,
